Where We Work

Buncombe County is home ground and Asheville is the county seat. From here we run northwest into Madison County and south into Henderson County. All three sit in the same mountain terrain band, and all three share the same design problem: thin soil over rock on a grade. Madison and Henderson each run their own county environmental health office, so the paperwork differs by county line even when the ground does not.

The sewer district here covers Asheville and several towns around it, plus certain unincorporated pockets. It stops where the collector mains stop, and that boundary is our whole market. About half of Buncombe County lives on a septic system rather than a sewer connection. Cross the line into Madison County and municipal collection barely exists outside the small towns.

The ring is not one kind of place. Leicester and Candler are unincorporated communities with no town government and no municipal utility of their own. Fairview and Swannanoa are named places without a town government, one in farm valleys southeast of the city and the other strung along the Swannanoa Valley east of it. Marshall is a small county seat on the French Broad, well outside any sewer footprint. Mills River and Fletcher are incorporated in Henderson County, with sewer reaching only part of Fletcher and the outlying parcels on septic. Weaverville has town sewer inside the collector network and septic on the land around it.

Coverage runs across Buncombe County and the two North Carolina counties listed above.

Outside that ring? Call (828) 555-0119 anyway. A full system replacement travels farther than a service call does, and we will say honestly if the drive puts your job out of reach.
